Workers' compensation claim may follow fatal work accident

Everyone knows that some places of work are more dangerous than others, but still, all workers are entitled to safe working conditions. Therefore, companies that are aware of possible increased risks should also do everything in their power to ensure safe working conditions. A Californian company is currently under investigation by the state's Occupational Safety and Health Administration, referred to as Cal/OSHA. The investigation follows after an incident that led to the death of an employee on a recent Wednesday in October.

According to reports, the 29-year-old employee was hit by iron beams. The beams fell off a truck. The man was taken to a hospital in the area, but unfortunately, the injuries were too severe and he did not survive. His father, also an employee of the company, had to witness the accident and death of his son.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further information has been provided by Cal/OSHA or the company. According to the Department of Labor, this is the first accident in four years at the company. However, an employee who has worked for the company for eight years is of the opinion that working at the company constantly places one in danger.

The family of the deceased worker has the right to file a workers' compensation claim. Losing a breadwinner, who has been fatally injured while on duty, changes the lives of the family members left behind. Californian families who suffered such a loss may find that claiming workers' compensation benefits can bring much-needed relief under difficult circumstances. The settlement of a workers' compensation claim should provide some comfort for the deceased's family.
