Wrong-way car accidents: 2 dead, 1 injured in California

Two people were killed and another was injured after a driver was speeding along the wrong side of the road. The collision occurred around 8:20 on a Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The driver who allegedly caused the crash was said to have been traveling at speeds up to 100 mph. He was on the wrong side of the road and driving around blind curves, which is regrettably common in wrong-way car accidents.

Three vehicles were involved in the accident. One of them was driven by a 47-year-old man, who was identified as the wrong-way driver. Another car was driven by a 21-year-old woman, who was killed in the accident. The third car's driver only suffered minor injuries. None of the vehicles had passengers, according to the report.

There were a few witnesses at the scene of the accident. They told the California Highway Patrol that they saw the wrong-way vehicle traveling at high speeds. No one is sure why the man was speeding so recklessly on roads with such dangerous curves. Investigators will be interviewing family and friends to try and determine the man's mindset before the accident occurred.

In a tragedy such as this, the loss of life is always hard to come to terms with. Family and friends of the woman who was killed are now faced with trying to deal with this loss and move forward. In California, when someone is injured or killed in wrong-way car accidents, the driver believed at fault is often held responsible. In cases where the accident victim has died, an experienced personal injury lawyer can help the victim's surviving family proceed with a claim for monetary damages due to the loss of life.
