Running a red light can lead to major consequences

Few things can stop you in your tracks faster than being involved in a trucking accident where an inattentive driver ran a red light. Accidents caused by breezing through red lights can lead to higher insurance costs, lengthy hospital stays for a driver and any victims, and irreversible ramifications if another person is killed.

Accidents where a truck driver runs a red light can lead to big pileups and numerous injuries. That's what happened when two fire truck drivers crashed into one another last week in Monterey Park, California. Drivers of the Monterey Park Fire Department and the Alhambra Fire Department were responding to the same call when the collision sent the Monterey Park truck into a nearby restaurant. A total of 15 people were hurt in the crash, including three pedestrians in front of the restaurant, six firefighters, and six civilians dining inside the restaurant.

Pedestrians involved in trucking accidents when one driver has run a red light stand a high risk of being injured critically due to the weight, speed, and size of many commercial trucks. Vehicles traveling with the right of way will have little opportunity to react to a truck that has run a red light, putting everyone in the vicinity in peril.

Especially in circumstances where the driver is not paying attention due to a conversation or other distraction, massive collisions can happen in busy intersections. Victims in these accidents or any other vehicle accident that has caused them to be injured might consider speaking to an experienced attorney to better understand their rights.
