Trip-and-fall lawsuit against Walgreens continued

A trial against Walgreens, the pharmacy store chain, has been continued in court. The trip\-and\-fall case was first filed in Sept. 2015. The plaintiff is suing for $75,000 on allegations of negligence. Although this lawsuit is pending in another state, many similar claims are filed in California every year.

According to court records, the plaintiff claims that the accident occurred when she was walking in the aisle of a Walgreen's store in August of last year. She alleges that she tripped over an empty spray pallet that was empty and lying flat across the isle. The woman says that she suffered injuries during that fall.

The lawsuit claims that the woman has incurred medical bills as a result of the incident. Her back, neck and legs were all reported to have suffered injury. She also suffered pain, suffering, and mental anguish and has been physically impaired and disfigured. According to the suit, all of this was directly caused by the negligence of the store personnel.

Walgreens is accused of failing to safely maintain the premises, failing to check for dangerous situations, report dangerous situations or warn the public of dangerous situations. Although the case was supposed to be heard on June 10, it was moved to November after the plaintiff requested a continuance to collect medical records. The motion was unopposed.

For residents of California and other states, trip-and-fall cases can result in serious injury. Anyone who has been injured on the property of another has the right to consult with a personal injury attorney. This lawyer can gather and assess the facts and help determine whether grounds exist for a premises liability lawsuit in civil court.
