Injuries associated with car accidents, Part 1

Cars are incredibly powerful and dangerous machines. They, on average, weigh over a ton. They can reach speeds of 80 miles-per-hour and more. They can be taken just about anywhere, for any purpose. They were a revolutionary machine that truly broke the human's connection and reliance upon the ground or town he or she was born. Cars enabled an entire generation of people to pick up and move. Unfortunately, cars are also incredibly dangerous. Cars are involved in thousands upon thousands of injuries and deaths every year due to mechanical failure, driver failure and drunken driving.

Those accidents result in a range of injuries. The injuries can be relatively minor, with only bruising or superficial harm. The injuries can be serious or even fatal, like head, neck and back injuries. This post will go over some of the common soft tissue injuries associated with all manner of car accidents, from the minor to the fatal.

The most common soft tissue injury is the contusion or bruise. These injuries are caused by, either, you striking or some object striking you at a high velocity. They are usually not serious, especially in minor accidents. However, after a car accident you never can tell how you were injured. It is always a good idea to get checked out by a doctor. Moreover, bruises could be indicative of a more serious deep tissue injury, like a bruised or crushed organ.

If you were injured in a car wreck by a negligent driver then you may want to consult with an attorney. Most car accidents can be resolved through insurance companies, with very little effort or input by the drivers. But not all accidents are so easily resolved. The insurance company may give you a fair offer, based upon the policy of the person that hurt you, which does not nearly begin to cover the injuries you suffered. In these situations, you may want to speak to an attorney to review your rights to determine the best course of action to get the compensation you deserve. You should not have to bear the burden of your medical bills.
